Welcome to Raya Development's new website
In response to an urgent request from Chercher Secondary School, Raya Development Foundation (RDF Canada) provided emergency support to twelve high school students facing extreme poverty. These students—many of whom were internally displaced or walked long distances from rural villages—were at risk of dropping out due to lack of food, clothing, shelter, and school supplies.
After independently verifying the situation, RDF Canada approved and released emergency funds in alignment with its charitable mission to:
Provide Relief of Poverty
Promote the Advancement of Education
Funds were transferred to RDF Canada’s intermediary and deposited into a trust account. These resources were used to support the students through the final six months of the school year, helping them remain enrolled and focused on their education through June 2024. The support covered:
Shelter
Food
Clothing
School Supplies
The school principal (or designated substitute) oversaw monthly fund distribution, as outlined.
RDF Canada followed up with the school and students monthly to ensure consistent support and accountability.
The school principal formally agreed to monitor and execute the fund distribution process. The initiative was successfully completed as planned, ensuring that each student received the intended support and was able to stay in school through the end of the academic year.
